Carl is a retired CPA and was a partner with the accounting firm Crowe Horwath, LLP, for over 40 years. He has spent his life mentoring and helping others. Likewise, he felt it important to impart to his own children the important values he has learned over the years. Thus, his youngest son, Kyle, and he co-founded Senior1Care. Carl’s eldest son, Corey, and his son-in-law, Patrick Broccolo, have since joined the family business and have continued to be excited about the opportunity to work and learn alongside their father. Carl is also pleased to have his wife, Susan, and his sister, Annie working in the family business.
Kyle grew up in South Bend and spent time in Chicago after graduating from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. While living in the “Windy City”, he gained valuable experience working in sales and customer service before heading back to Indiana to start the family business. Kyle finds great satisfaction in helping others and managing the daily operations of Senior1Care.
Director of Client Service and Business Development
Susan Bossung is Senior1Care’s Director of Client Services and Business Development. She has worked in the medical field for many years. She also has several years of experience working with the geriatric population and individuals who suffer from dementia, depression, and anxiety, as well as, she cared for her mother over a period of 20 years who suffered from Alzheimer’s. Susan enjoys working in the family business conducting new client consultations and assessments. She also manages cases, is responsible for client service and new business development.
Director of Operations and Recruitment
Carole joined Senior1Care after working in the healthcare industry in various positions for the last 16 years. She still holds her CNA license and she has an Organizational Management degree from Bethel College. She previously has been a Qualified Medical Assistant, Business Office Manager and Marketing Director for both nursing homes and assisted living communities. Carole is responsible for all operations in our South Bend, Mishawaka and Elkhart locations, as well as spearheading the recruitment of exceptional caregivers.
Jen Bothun, LPN
Jen joined Senior1Care with over 12 years of geriatric nursing experience. She has held several nursing and management positions to include: staff nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing for a long-term care facility and was the Resident Care Coordinator for a large Assisted Living Program. Jen is passionate about educating caregivers and providing them with the tools and experience needed to better care for our clients and families. Jen will provide client assessments and service reviews, case management and geriatric care management services for clients and their families.
Director of Strategic Initiatives
Katie grew up in Chicago and moved to South Bend in 2011. While she was in Chicago, Katie worked in several management roles at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and focused on management training, healthcare operations and process improvement. At Senior1Care, Katie is spearheading special projects including social media utilization, website optimization, caregiver recognition and client testimonials. Katie has her Bachelor’s degree from Miami of Ohio and an MBA in Healthcare Management from Loyola University Chicago.
Bobbi Hall, a graduate of Bethel College, has over 20 years of experience in the home care and medical field, including durable medical equipment, Home IV Therapy, centralized intake, and management. She administers internal functions for our South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart and Indianapolis offices to include payroll, billing, insurance, taxes and facilities.
Jill Wileman is a CPA who graduated from Indiana University, and has over 30 years of experience in public accounting and private business. She was the controller for a software company and an information technology company, where she saw these companies through growth and acquisition. Jill oversees the accounting functions at Senior1Care, and assures the administrative processes align with the company’s financial requirements.
Tricia Anglin is a Care Coordinator who studied Medical Assisting while in college and has over 20 years customer service experience, including 10 years of scheduling experience. Her knowledge from being a caregiver for over five years has helped her relate to the struggles many of our families and caregivers deal with on an ongoing basis. Her passion is to assist clients and families in finding the perfect caregiver match while taking into consideration each individual’s needs, strengths, talents and personalities.
Chris comes to Senior 1 Care with 20 years of experience working in health care and with the geriatric population. Chris graduated from Manchester University with a degree in social work, and has worked as a Social Service Director in long term care facilities. Chris brings practical knowledge of geriatric health and extensive experience with care coordination and health planning for the elderly. Chris works closely with caregivers, family members and our clients to help manage these processes, while providing exceptional care and service.
Jeff began caregiving at the age of 16 and worked in group homes with high-needs populations, including adults who were developmentally disabled or who had brain injuries. Jeff graduated from Calvin College with a degree in social work and psychology, and worked as a social worker in long-term care and rehabilitation settings for over 17 years before joining the Senior1Care team. Jeff enjoys connecting with clients and their families, and developing relationships across the community to enhance the client experience.
Sue McPherren, RN
Legacy CNA Program Director
Sue has been a registered nurse for more than 25 years. In 2002, Sue began working for Michiana Healthcare Training as a clinical instructor and was quickly promoted to program director. When Senior1Care assumed the operations of Michiana Healthcare Training in 2014, Legacy CNA Training was formed. Today, Sue oversees both our Legacy Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) schools – one in Mishawaka and one in Carmel. Sue is passionate about the difference she makes in her student’s lives and is an integral part of the growth we are experiencing with the program today.
Customer Service Coordinator
Gennie spent more than 15 years working in the hotel industry and has truly mastered the art of customer service. Prior to the hotel industry, Gennie held a managerial position in the Customer Service department at UPS in the Philippines. There is not anything Gennie would not do for our caregivers, clients and staff alike, so whether you call or stop by, Gennie will take great care of you.
Indianapolis Area Management Team
Corey Bossung, CNA
Corey joined the team after moving back from Chicago. While working in the medical field, he gained greater understanding, knowledge, and perspective about obstacles our clients face day to day. Before opening Senior1Care’s Carmel location, Corey became a licensed Certified Nurse Aide. Corey enjoys working in the family business and manages the recruiting and scheduling for our Indianapolis area office.
Patrick Broccolo, CNA
Patrick graduated from Butler University and has lived in the greater Indianapolis area for many years. He is married to Carl’s daughter, Nicole. After several years working in the marketing field, Patrick became a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant. He felt it was important to learn about the needs older adults face and what constitutes a dedicated caregiver. Throughout his career, he has learned the value of professionalism and quality service. Patrick manages new client consultations, customer service, and business development for our Indianapolis area location.
Annie Bossung Lacy, RN
Annie Bossung Lacy is the Executive Director of our Carmel office. Annie is a registered nurse who has over 20 years of experience in nursing with a special focus in geriatrics, mental health and dementia. Her career has included positions as the Director of Nursing in CCRCs and as a consultant for long term care and assisted living communities throughout Indiana and West Virginia. Annie especially enjoys the satisfaction of assisting clients achieve their maximum potential while residing in their home. Being a part of the family’s business, she oversees the administration of the Carmel office and strives to ensure that customer service is always a top priority.

Tiffany grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Texas State University. Since moving to Indianapolis with her husband in 2014, she has held positions in long term care and hospice care. Her passion for working with seniors and caregivers comes from a special and close relationship with her grandparents. Nancy Hanley, RN
Geriatric Care Management Consultant
Nancy Hanley, RN joined Senior1Care as a Geriatric Care Management Consultant, bringing 34 years of nursing experience to the company. Throughout her nursing career she has worked with patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, and has found her passion in helping older adults. Nancy provides geriatric care management services to seniors and their families assisting with such tasks as conducting care-planning assessments to identify problems and provide solutions, acting as a liaison between families and medical professionals, easing the transition from hospital to home, supporting seniors as they “age in place” as well as providing crisis intervention services.
Brandy Adams, LPN
Brandy joins us with over 10 years of crisis management, compliance and corporate experience. Before pursuing her nursing degree, Brandy joined Senior1Care as a caregiver and became an advocate for high quality care for her clients. After obtaining her nursing degree, Brandy’s nursing career included positions as a Floor Captain for Ortho Trauma at Eskenazi Hospital and as a Unit Manager for Communicare Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Facility in Carmel, IN. Brandy is excited to be back at Senior1Care and supporting clients in her new role.
Wanda Neil is a Care Coordinator in our Indianapolis area office. She comes to us with many years of experience in staffing, administrative support, and customer service. Being raised by her grandparents, she has always been an advocate for the elderly. She is customer service focused and she uses this attribute to relate and connect with others who are in need of assistance. Wanda has a strong drive to help others and goes above and beyond to ensure our clients and caregivers fit well together.
Cheryl Bowers is a Care Coordinator in our Indianapolis office. She has worked in the medical field for many years in various capacities. In her last position she worked as a Central Scheduler for Visiting Nurse in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Cheryl has her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting as well as her Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. She has a heart for all people, but particularly the elderly and will strive to make sure that the clients are paired with the best caregiver possible. Cheryl’s desire to live closer to her children and grandchildren is what brought her to Indianapolis and Senior1Care.
Angie Shafer, RN
Legacy CNA Program Director
Angie is the Program Director of our Carmel location. Angie has almost 20 years of nursing experience in geriatrics, psychiatric nursing, and working with developmentally disabled individuals. Angie is passionate about sharing her clinical knowledge and absolutely loves teaching. For the past 10 years, Angie has been a CNA Student Instructor and never gets tired of watching her students grow and become successful.
