Become a Personal Care Assistant in Days With Legacy CNA Training
With the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indiana State Department of Health has created a specialized training program to train healthcare workers called a Personal Care Attendant (PCA). For individuals who may have lost their jobs or are otherwise looking to help during these challenging times, PCA training is a fast process leading to new job opportunities.
This PCA position and training are here to address work increases caused by COVID-19. Much like a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a PCA can perform many resident care procedures while setting a foundation for a future career. Whatever your employment history is, from experience within the hospitality industry to acting as a volunteer, to simply having a caring disposition, there is a place for you to quickly achieve new career opportunities through two days of training.
Through Legacy CNA Training, individuals at least sixteen (16) years of age or older can participate in a free training course offered weekly and leading to a PCA certification. Over the course of eight hours of training in just a few days, potential PCAs will learn valuable caregiving skills including:
- Resident Rights, HIPAA, Abuse & Neglect
- Infection Control & Hand Hygiene
- Emergency Procedures
- Activities of Daily Living (including turning and repositioning a resident in bed, assistance with dressing/undressing, incontinence/perineal care, assist to toilet, & bed baths)
- Skin Care
- Oxygen Use
- Nutrition & Hydration
- Dementia Care
