About Us

Carl and Kyle Bossung are a father and son team that have spent most of their lives in South Bend, Indiana. They value the charisma of the community and love connecting with others and learning more about what makes this community so great!

The unmet needs of the elderly are a glaring concern, and Carl and Kyle have witnessed first hand through friends and family the desperate need for senior care. After observing the heartaches and stress of others trying to find care for loved ones, they decided to dedicate themselves to the home care industry and provide comprehensive service offerings.

Carl has been a partner with the accounting firm Crowe Chizek and Company LLC over 30 years.  Due to his love of mentoring and helping others, Carl felt it would be a shame not to impact to his own children some of the important values he’s learned over the years. Thus Senior 1 Care was born.  Both his sons Corey and Kyle have joined the family business and are excited about the opportunity to work along side by side with their father.

Kyle grew up in South Bend and spent time in Chicago after graduating from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. While living in the "Windy City" he gained valuable experience by working primarily in sales. Kyle has always found great satisfaction in helping others, and when given the chance to work with his dad, he embraced the opportunity.

The oldest son Corey joined the team in the fall of 2007 after moving back from Chicago.  While working in the medical field for the past 4 years in Chicago he gained a greater understanding, knowledge and perspective on some of the obstacles that clients face day to day.    He has opened a NW Indianapolis Indiana, branch of Senior 1 Care in Zionsville.   He is looking forward to the challenges that will come along with a new branch location but embraces the opportunity to work alongside of his father and brother in the family business.

In Memory
When the family business was formed in the spring of 2006.  Carl and his wife Jan assisted in many of the details of starting a business.   From decorating the office to ordering supplies and answering the phones.  Jan’s enthusiasm and class set the stage for Senior 1 Care quality.  Her years as a medical professional helped guide the company in its early months.  Unfortunately, Jan was unexpectedly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2006 and passed away on October 31 2007.  The family continues to operate the business in her memory and with the kindness and compassion that she exhibited to all of those for whom she came in contact.
